Living in Chicago and Los Angeles in her 20s, she was very focused on her career, traveled a lot, and took advantage of everything city life had to offer. She tried different approaches — matchmaking, speed dating, How About We, and dating apps — but without much dating success. Then she had an epiphany that was work-related: "If I was doing something at work for 10 years and didn't get the results I wanted, I would really reevaluate and change my approach."
She enlisted help from Smart Dating Academy's date coaching at 34. Some of the major lessons she learned working with SDA were that she needed to build a dating funnel and approach dating differently than a business transaction — she needed to actually get to know people, not just screen dates based on profiles. She revamped her dating profile to really show her personality, which helped her get more interest, but also more qualified, good men reaching out.
